Tips

history
陶渊明 wrote it as the preface to a poem about the same place. A fisherman of Wuling follows a stream lined with peach trees into a cave and finds a village whose people fled the wars of the Qin and have lived there ever since, not knowing there had been a Han, let alone a Wei or a Jin. When he goes back later he cannot find the way.
culture
It gave Chinese 世外桃源 'an earthly paradise', 桃花源 for any hidden idyll, and 无人问津 'nobody asks about it', from its last line, which says no one went looking for the place again.
