In
陶渊明's 《
桃花源记》 (about 421), a fisherman follows a stream through a grove of peach blossoms, squeezes through a cave and finds a village whose people fled the wars of the Qin dynasty and know nothing of the Han, let alone the Wei and Jin. Once he leaves, no one can find the way back. The tale also gave the idiom
世外桃源.
