Yang Zi is one of post-90s mainland TV's rare successful child-to-adult transitions — she played Xia Xue in 家有儿女 (2005-2007) from age 12, then reinvented as a serious lead with 欢乐颂 (2016) and 香蜜沉沉烬如霜 (2018). Not to be confused with her namesake the Yangtze River (also 杨紫 homophones with 扬子).
