history
Recorded the binomial-coefficient triangle in his 1261 work 《详解九章算法》, nearly four centuries before Blaise Pascal's 1655 treatise. Yang credited an even earlier version to the 11th-century mathematician Jia Xian (贾宪), so the figure is sometimes called 贾宪三角.
