In Chinese-language Christian texts (Catholic and Protestant), 救主 is the standard rendering of 'the Savior' — and the holiday 救主圣诞 (jiùzhǔ shèngdàn) is one of several names for Christmas. Outside religion, 救主 is used metaphorically for anyone who shows up just in time to bail you out — often with a slightly grateful or theatrical tone.
