Title of a three-poem set by 柳宗元 (Liu Zongyuan, 773-819, Tang), written in imitation of 阮籍 (Ruan Ji, 210-263, Wei/Jin), the Bamboo-Grove poet whose 《咏怀》(Songs of My Cares) established dark, indirect political verse. 阮公 = 'Master Ruan' (阮籍). 体 = poetic style. 三首 = three poems. Liu was a leading reformer exiled to Yongzhou; imitating Ruan Ji let him voice political grief through allegory.
