The pen name sets 墨香 'the scent of ink', a scholar's pride, beside 铜臭 'the stink of copper coins', a merchant's greed. 臭 is read xiù here, 'smell', as in 乳臭未干, not chòu. Fans often shorten the name to MXTX.
