魔道祖师

A 耽美 (male-male romance) novel serialized on 晋江文学城 in 2015–2016. Its hero 魏无羡, a cultivator who practised forbidden demonic arts, is brought back to life thirteen years after his death and solves a mystery with 蓝忘机. It was adapted as an animated series (2018), an audio drama, a comic, and the 2019 drama 陈情令 (The Untamed), which made stars of 肖战 and 王一博.

The author's pen name 墨香铜臭 is a joke: 墨香 is the scent of ink and 铜臭 the smell of money, an old phrase for greed. 臭 here is 'smell', not chòu 'stink'.
