usage

去洗手间 is the directional counterpart to 上洗手间 — both polite. In practice they're swappable; 上洗手间 edges slightly more polite/euphemistic, 去洗手间 slightly more neutral-directional. Pair either with 一下 to sound natural: 去一下洗手间.
