Reduplicated 刷 (brush). Two main uses: (1) onomatopoeia for brushing/rustling sounds — rain on a roof, leaves in wind, a brush on paper; (2) figurative "swiftly, briskly" — 刷刷地写 "write briskly". Often paired with 地 before a verb.
