Tips

history
曹霸, a descendant of 曹操, painted horses and portraits for 唐玄宗 and had fallen into poverty after the An Lushan rebellion. Du Fu met him in Chengdu around 764 and wrote of him 丹青不知老将至,富贵于我如浮云。 'Painting, he never noticed old age coming; wealth and rank were floating clouds to him.'
usage
丹青 'red and blue-green', the two commonest pigments, means painting, and 引 is a kind of song, like 歌 and 行 in other titles. 将军 was Cao Ba's honorary military rank.
