频伽鸟 is a shortening of 迦陵频伽 (jiālíngpínqié), a transliteration of Sanskrit कलविङ्क (kalaviṅka). In Buddhist cosmology it is said to sing inside the egg with a voice surpassing all other birds, and is a stock symbol of the Pure Land.
