Tips

history
An early source says 诸葛亮 improved the existing 连弩 (repeating crossbow) into one that loosed ten iron bolts, eight inches long, at a single release. The hand-held repeating crossbows in museums, which drop bolts one after another from a box on top, are mostly Ming and Qing pieces that carry his name; the type itself is far older.
culture
In the card game 三国杀, 诸葛连弩 is a weapon card that lets its holder play any number of 杀 ('attack') cards in a turn.
