Taiwan business term. In Taiwanese banks the typical hierarchy runs 行员 → 副襄理 → 襄理 → 副理 → 经理 (rank-and-file → deputy assistant manager → assistant manager → deputy manager → manager). Mainland banks use a different ladder; 襄理 there sounds dated or literary.
memory
襄 by itself means 'to assist' (as in 共襄盛举 'jointly support a grand undertaking'). 襄理 = 'assisting [the] manager' — handy for parsing the rank as 'sub-manager who assists'.
