象棋 xiàngqí) and in military/wargame exercises, the two sides are
红方 (Red) vs
黑方 (Black) or
红方 vs
蓝方 (Blue) — Red conventionally being 'us/the home side'. (2) In food contexts,
红方 is shorthand for
红方腐乳 (hóngfāng fǔrǔ), the red-rind fermented bean curd colored with red yeast rice (
红曲).
