祷文 is the written/recited form of a prayer — distinguish from
祷告 (dǎogào) which is the act of praying. You'll see
祷文 in Christian and Catholic contexts (
主祷文 'the Lord's Prayer'), and historically in Confucian/Daoist temple rituals where set
祷文 are recited at altars.
