Tips

history
Published in 1865 by 刘易斯·卡洛尔; its sequel is Through the Looking-Glass (1871). The first Chinese translation, by the linguist 赵元任 in 1922, was called 阿丽思漫游奇境记. Films such as Disney's 1951 cartoon and Tim Burton's 2010 version are usually given the same Chinese title.
usage
On its own 梦游 usually means 'to sleepwalk'. In the title it means 'to wander in a dream', because the whole adventure turns out to be Alice's dream.
