漠河 (Mohe, China's northernmost city in Heilongjiang) kept dancing alone for decades at the local dance hall in memory of his wife who died in the devastating 1987 Daxing'anling wildfire. The song blew up on Douyin in 2021 and sparked a 'pilgrimage' tourism trend to Mohe.
