Sandboarding is a popular activity at China's desert tourism sites — 鸣沙山 (Dunhuang, Gansu), 库布齐沙漠 (Inner Mongolia), and 沙坡头 (Ningxia). 鸣沙山's dunes are even said to 'sing' (鸣 = to ring) when sliders rush down them.
