Both the marine animal and its iconic spiral shell. In Tibetan Buddhism the 海螺 (right-spiraled white conch, 白海螺) is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols (八吉祥), used as a ritual horn. In coastal cuisine, 海螺 is also a popular seafood dish.
