Tang's 'Four Dreams of Linchuan' (临川四梦, Línchuān sì mèng) — 牡丹亭 (Mǔdān Tíng), 紫钗记 (Zǐ Chāi Jì), 邯郸记 (Hándān Jì), 南柯记 (Nánkē Jì) — define late-Ming romantic drama. He was a contemporary of Shakespeare; both died in 1616.
