Two famous Yang Yongs: the Sui-dynasty 杨勇 (d. 604) was Emperor Wen's firstborn and crown prince, pushed aside by his scheming brother 广 (later the notorious Emperor Yang). In the 20th century, PLA general 杨勇 (1913-1983) commanded the Chinese People's Volunteer Army in the final phase of the Korean War and was one of 55 senior generals (上将) ranked in 1955.
