杏花 is a classic image of early spring in Chinese poetry. The Tang poet Du Mu's line 『牧童遥指杏花村』 ('the cowherd points into the distance at Apricot Blossom Village') gave the name to the famous Fenjiu 汾酒 liquor brand, 杏花村.
