usage
者 is the literary suffix for 'one who does X' (cf. 学者 scholar, 作者 author, 记者 reporter). 收割者 is more vivid and ominous than the plain 收割机 (harvester machine) — pick it when you want the Grim-Reaper or sci-fi ring.
