Tang dynasty poet from Bianzhou (, modern Kaifeng). His most celebrated poem 《》 (Huánghèlóu) 'Yellow Crane Tower', written at the tower in Wuhan, was ranked the greatest seven-character regulated verse (七律 qīlǜ) of the Tang by Ming critic Yan Yu. Legend has it that Li Bai (李白) himself was so awed he refused to write his own poem on the same tower.
