Anyuan is a district of Pingxiang, Jiangxi, famous for its coal mines and for the 1922 Anyuan Railway and Mines Workers' Strike led by Liu Shaoqi and Li Lisan — a founding event in Chinese Communist Party labor history. The propaganda painting 《毛主席去安源》 ('Chairman Mao Goes to Anyuan', 1967) became one of the most-printed images of the Cultural Revolution.
