usage
天文 tiānwén ('astronomy') distinguishes it from generic 望远镜 wàngyuǎnjìng (telescope/binoculars), which can refer to ordinary spyglasses and field binoculars. Pairs with 折射式 zhéshèshì (refractor) and 反射式 fǎnshèshì (reflector).
The 500-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) in Guizhou, nicknamed 'China's Eye of the Sky', is the world's largest single-aperture radio astronomy telescope, completed in 2016.
