Tips

history
In 1890 the Protestant missions in China agreed to make one shared translation, a 和合 'union' of their efforts. The Mandarin version appeared in 1919, and a revised edition followed in 2010. Its wording still shapes the Chinese spoken in Protestant churches.
usage
Catholics use a different translation, the 思高本 of 1968, and many names differ: Moses is 摩西 in the Union Version but 梅瑟 in the Catholic Bible.
