狄浦斯 is the standard Mainland transliteration of 'Oedipus', the Greek mythological king who unknowingly killed his father and married his mother. Freud borrowed the name for the 狄浦斯情结 (Oedipus complex). Taiwan tends to use instead. The full Freudian phase is also called (xìngqìqī) 'phallic stage'.
