俄狄浦斯 is the standard Mainland transliteration of 'Oedipus', the Greek mythological king who unknowingly killed his father and married his mother. Freud borrowed the name for the 俄狄浦斯情结 (Oedipus complex). Taiwan tends to use 伊底帕斯 instead. The full Freudian phase is also called 性器期 (xìngqìqī) 'phallic stage'.
