Gaochun's 固城湖 (Gucheng Lake) is one of the top producers of 大闸蟹 - hairy crabs. Locals claim theirs rival the more-famous Yangcheng Lake crabs. The district is also designated an "International Slow City" (国际慢城) - the first in Asia, 2010.
