Tips

history
香山 ('Fragrant Hills') in western Beijing served as Mao Zedong's first Beijing base from March to November 1949 — the CCP Central Committee relocated from Xibaipo to 别墅 at Xiangshan before officially entering the Forbidden City. The site is now a 'red tourism' landmark alongside the autumn-leaves park.
