The whole poem: 去年今日此门中,人面桃花相映红。人面不知何处去,桃花依旧笑春风。 'This day last year, inside this gate, her face and the peach blossoms lit each other red. Where her face has gone I do not know; the peach blossoms still smile in the spring breeze.' A Tang story tells that 崔护 asked for water at this farm on the Qingming festival, came back a year later to find the gate locked, and wrote the poem on the door. It gave Chinese 人面桃花, for someone loved, seen once and lost.
