The Alamo is a former Franciscan mission in San Antonio, Texas. The 1836 Battle of the Alamo, in which a small Texan garrison was defeated by Mexican forces under Santa Anna, became a defining moment of the Texas Revolution. 'Remember the Alamo!' became a rallying cry.
