Today 酒家 is mostly a word in restaurant names, especially Cantonese ones such as 广州酒家. The old sense, "tavern", is the one in the line 借问酒家何处有 ("may I ask where there is a tavern?") from the Qingming poem traditionally credited to Du Mu.
