history
From 《论语·为政》: 六十而耳顺 "at sixty my ear was attuned", usually read as hearing any words, even harsh ones, without being upset. After 知命之年 (50) comes 耳顺之年 (60), then 古稀之年 (70), named from a line by 杜甫. 花甲之年 is a more common name for sixty.
