Folded from tinfoil-coated paper to mimic 元宝 (yuánbǎo) — the boat-shaped silver ingots of imperial times. Burned at gravesites during Qingming, Zhongyuan (Hungry Ghost Festival), and on the anniversaries of a relative's death so that the deceased has 'currency' in the afterlife.
