First published in 1858 by English anatomist Henry Gray (亨利·格雷). The 氏 ('Mr./surname') is a formal honorific used in book titles to mean 'of [surname]'s', equivalent to the 's in 'Gray's.'
The American TV drama 实习医生格蕾 takes its name from this book; the title pun is deliberate. Note the slightly different transliteration - the book is 格雷, the show is 格蕾.
