尤利西斯 transliterates the Latin name 'Ulysses' (Greek: Odysseus /
奥德修斯 Àodéxiūsī). In modern Chinese it most often refers to James Joyce's 1922 modernist novel 《
尤利西斯》 (Ulysses), translated into Chinese in 1994-1995 by Xiao Qian (
萧乾) and Wen Jieruo (
文洁若). The novel re-tells one day in Dublin as a parallel to the Odyssey.
