Books of the Analects are named after their opening words, not their subject. Book 1 begins
子曰:
学而时习之,
不亦说乎 'The Master said: to learn, and to practice it in due time, is that not a pleasure?', so it is called
学而, 'to learn, and'. Book 2,
为政, is named the same way. The book gathers sayings on learning, family duty and friendship.
