Founded by 汪滔 (Frank Wang) in 2006 while he was a student at HKUST (香港科技大学). Headquartered in 深圳, DJI now controls roughly 70% of the global consumer drone market. The full Chinese company name is 大疆创新 ('DJI Innovations'). The English 'DJI' is from the pinyin initials of 大疆创新.
