The Chinese wax flower produces pinkish-white blooms in early summer.

usage
Despite the name 蜡梅, this plant is not closely related to winter sweet (腊梅 Chimonanthus praecox). 夏 ("summer") distinguishes it: endemic to Zhejiang and Anhui, it blooms in May–June and is a nationally protected species.
