Tips

usage
As a book title, 周官 is the older name of the 周礼, the name used today; the change is usually credited to 刘歆 at the end of the Western Han. In a citation such as 《尚书·周官》 it means the chapter.
history
The chapter is one of the 'Old Text' chapters of the Book of Documents that surfaced in the 4th century and are now widely thought to have been written then. It sets out the offices from the 三公, the three senior dukes, down to the six ministers who head the government, and ends with advice to officials on honest conduct.
