A Hong Kong / Cantonese loanword from English 'tuna' (吞拿, tan1 naa2). Widely used in southern China, HK and Macau, and in mainland supermarkets for imported tinned products. Mainland / Mandarin written menus often prefer 金枪鱼 for the same fish.
