Tips

history

Founded by Zhao Kuangyin (赵匡胤) in 960 via the 陈桥兵变 mutiny. Ended catastrophically in the 靖康之变 of 1127 when Jurchen Jin armies sacked Kaifeng and kidnapped two emperors — survivors fled south to establish the Southern Song at Lin'an (Hangzhou).
