In Singapore, Malaysia, and other Southeast Asian Chinese communities, 黄梨 is the everyday word for pineapple. Mainland and Taiwanese speakers say 菠萝 (bōluó) or 凤梨 (fènglí). The difference can confuse menu reading across regions.
