The land sense is read lù. The same character is also the formal anti-fraud form of 六 (six), read liù, used on checks and contracts where a plain 六 could be altered: 陆月 (June), 陆点 (six o'clock). As a surname it is read Lù (e.g. the Song poet 陆游).
