A signature Beijing summer drink, traditionally made by simmering 乌梅 (smoked plum), 山楂 (hawthorn), 甘草 (licorice) and 桂花 (osmanthus) with rock sugar. The Qing imperial court popularized it; the brand 信远斋 has sold it on Liulichang since 1740s.
