Comic performer of 相声 (crosstalk) who founded the troupe 德云社 and brought the art back to packed theatres in the 2000s, usually on stage with his partner 于谦.
Before he was famous he billed himself as a 非著名相声演员 'non-famous crosstalk performer', and the label stuck. 德云社 apprentices get stage names by class: 岳云鹏 and 张云雷 belong to the 云 class, 孟鹤堂 to the 鹤 class.
