Dazhou (
达州市) is a prefecture-level city in northeastern Sichuan, near the Chongqing border. The name literally means 'reach prefecture' — historically a frontier post on the route into Sichuan. Known regionally for its
灯影牛肉 (lantern-shadow beef, a thinly-sliced jerky).
