Examples

Kāipán bú dào yī xiǎoshí, zhè zhī gǔpiào jiù diētíng le.
The stock hit limit-down less than an hour after the open.
Lìkōng xiāoxi yī chū, quán bǎnkuài jítǐ diētíng.
As soon as the bad news came out, the whole sector collectively hit limit-down.

Tips

usage
On China's A-share market, stocks can move at most ±10% in a trading day (±20% on ChiNext/STAR Board, ±5% for ST shares). Hitting that floor is 跌停; hitting the ceiling is 涨停.
